We are thrilled to announce an exciting postdoctoral position within the cutting-edge realm of GIS and Remote Sensing. RESDiNET is seeking a talented expert to join our research team and contribute to our pioneering projects aimed at understanding forest ecology and disturbance.

 

Project Overview
 
This postdoc position is a unique opportunity to work on two groundbreaking projects:
 
FORSOMICS: This project focuses on upgrading our research team and infrastructure to delve into the mechanisms of conifer resistance to bark beetles in a changing climate, spanning from the genetic level to the entire tree.
 
RESDiNET: Our Network for Novel Remote Sensing Technologies in Forest Disturbance Ecology continues to push the boundaries of what remote sensing can achieve in understanding and mitigating forest disturbances. Learn more about RESDiNET here.

 

Position Details
 
Duration: July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2026

Location: Institute of Forest Ecology (SAS), Zvolen, Slovakia. Fieldwork will be conducted in the picturesque Slovak mountains.

Salary: Approximately €1800 net per month

 

Requirements
 
Experience: Proficiency in operating drones equipped with LIDAR and hyperspectral sensors.

Skills: Strong spatial data processing capabilities and programming in Python; ability to operate drones in mountainous terrains.
